On Friday 4th February 2022, President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has led a delegation to grace the 35th session of the African Union(AU) to be held in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa.
His delegation includes Hon Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Albert Kan Dapaah, the Minister for National security, and other officials.
This year marks the 35th ordinary session of the assembly of the African Union.
The President is to present reports on AU financial institutions, on gender and development as a way of advocating gender and development.
Heads of state are said to be in session from the 5th to the 6th of February, 2022. The theme for this year AU Assembly deals on “Building resilience in nutrition on the African continent: Accelerate the human capital, social and economic development”
In the absence of the President, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia assumes office by section 8 of article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana
