The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in collaboration with the Viola Ford Fletcher Ford Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) registered in Ghana and the United States of America will on Thursday, October 4 2022 distribute sanitary pads, panties, brassieres and deodorants on to some 200 teenage girls at the Mamprobi Sempe Cluster of Schools.

The initiative, dubbed Pad-Me forms part of measures to address the needs of the girl child as they go through their menstrual cycle as well as promote good personal hygiene during menstruation.

Speaking during a courtesy call on the first female Mayor of Accra, Hon Elizabeth K.T Sackey, President and Chief Operating Officer of Viola Ford Fletcher Ford Foundation, Ike Howard, said the initiative sought to minimise the risk of poor sanitation and promote good hygienic practices among girls during menstruation and beyond.
