Boxing: Mike Tyson Vs Jake Paul Postponed

The fight between former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and YouTuber Jake Paul has been rescheduled from its scheduled July 20, 2024, date. The new date will be revealed by this Friday.

The information is related to Tyson’s reported ulcer flare-up that occurred earlier this week while travelling to Los Angeles. After seeing doctors for a follow-up, Tyson has been told to undertake “minimal to light training over the next few weeks then return to full training with no limitations,” according to a statement released by the bout organizers.

With no professional fights since 2005, Tyson claimed to be in good shape and to be starting training again soon.

“I want to express my gratitude to all of my followers for their understanding and support at this difficult period. Regretfully, my doctor has recommended that I reduce my training for a few weeks in order to relax and heal from my ulcer flare-up,” the man stated.

The 2020 professional Jake Paul gladly accepted the postponement, saying he wanted to face Tyson at his peak.

I’m all for delaying the event so Mike Tyson won’t have any justifications on fight night. Let there be no doubt, that when Iron Mike walks into the ring with me, I will be prepared to capture the victory with a spectacular finish. My supporters know that I only want to fight Iron Mike at his best,” he stated.

In January 2020, Paul faced off against AnEsonGib in his professional boxing debut. He faced and defeated professional boxers Andre August and Ryan Bourland, as well as MMA fighters Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz. He also defeated former basketball player Nate Robinson. In 2023, he suffered a loss to Tommy Fury.

According to reports, Tyson and Paul have decided to postpone their fight, which is scheduled to air on Netflix, in order to provide fair competition. It is now anticipated that the game will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, later in the year. Tickets that have already been purchased will still be valid for the new date.
