Happy moments as the okper division of the Yolo state coronates their divisional chief and Queen mother.

In the early hours of Saturday, December 11th, 2021, the whole yilo with great joy gathered at the coronation grounds of Okperpiem in the eastern region of Ghana, somanya.

It has been a piece of sad news throughout the year as the people have been without any reigning chief when the former royals of this position passed on.

The people of the okper division had seen it necessary to enthrone a new chief and Queen due to crises they’re facing without anyone to lead them and give them leadership directives to overcome their challenges.

After a thorough search, the people picked, Mr Dennis Terkpertey and Mrs Esther Dabrah to be their rightful chief and Queen.

At the coronation, the newly coronated chief Nene Nanekey Terkpertey Ofori Agor IX briefed the people on how the impasse between the ECG and the people of Kroboland was addressed at their previous meeting.

He again proposed the need for scholarships for intelligent but needy youth in the community to enable them to attain higher education.

Various chiefs and Queen mothers were representing their in their beautiful “Agu” (ceremonial cloth for chiefs and Queen mothers)

The Klama group also represented and displayed a beautiful Klama traditional dance of the Krobos.

The people especially the youth now have great excitement and relief from the speech by the chief.

And the called it the beautiful moment on Kroboland
