At a brief but colourful ceremony at the Accra Senior High School on Thursday, 26 May 2022, Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia handed over the keys for 75 buses and 5 Pickup trucks to some head tutors of Senior High Schools across Ghana.
In the education sector in the last two years, 365 Isuzu double cabin pickups have been distributed to all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directorates of Education as well as selected agencies under the Ministry of Education, together with 493 motorbikes to aid the work of circuit supervisors and in July 2020, 100 buses were procured.
They also handed over, in January 2022, 100 pickups and 50 buses to more schools.
He reiterated the holistic nature of the government’s interventions to continue to invest in infrastructure including classrooms, dormitories, administration blocks, libraries, dining halls and also transportation.
