E-Gates to replace immigration officers at KIA – Bawumia

At Kotoka International Airport (KIA), vice president and NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said the government will introduce an E-Gate program that will let travellers access without going through immigration officials.

On Monday, June 3, during his campaign tour in Cape Coast, Bawumia made the remarks in an address to the clergy.

“Before the end of this year, you will not need to visit an immigration officer at Kotoka Airport to enter Ghana; instead, you can enter directly with your Ghana card and the E-gates will open for you,” the speaker stated.

By the end of 2024, the E-Gate initiative will be put into action, the NPP flagbearer continued.

Bawumia pledged that “the E-gates will come into work in Ghana before the end of this year.”

On April 24, 2024, the NPP Presidential Candidate left the Eastern Region to start his national campaign tour.

By the end of the first week of June, Bawumia intends to visit each of the 275 constituencies.
