The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it would release copies of the new voter register by November 11.
In an interview with Joy News, Ec’s Director of Elections, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe said that the commission would release the register a month to the elections.
“We could have even given them out earlier but because we should finish with the transfers and special voters’ compilation before we can give the register out,” Dr Quaicoe stated.
Nominations have already been opened till October 9 and the electoral commission is asking interested political parties and independent candidates to officially come on board for the December polls.
On the other hand, the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) has urged the EC to make sure that the final register is provided to all political parties ahead of time.
