Nana Aba Anamoah a media personality, the general manager for GHOne TV and Starr 103.5fm and a women football advocator has taken to her Twitter account to plead with the Minister of Communications, Miss Ursula Owusu to extend the deadline for the SIM card registration.
“Getting a Ghana card has been hard for many. It’s only fair they get another chance in the midst of the delays of the NIA.” – Nana Aba Anamoah pleads
The SIM card re-registration commenced in October 2021 and was initially expected to end in March 2022 but due to public outcry, it was extended to July 2022.
Even though the time was extended some Ghanaians haven’t been able to register their SIM cards yet and risk to being removed from the communication card.
Netizens also have added their voices to the media personality’s posts.
“By registering using what? The same Ghana Card most of us don’t have and have been going up and down but still haven’t gotten. – Halimatu Sadia Suleman complains.
“Please ask Ursula Owusu those who registered for the Ghana Card but haven’t gotten it yet how would they register? If you go to do another card they will tell you to go and come but for 2 years our card haven’t come” – Isaac Oteng.
“Why do they want to ‘end’ the registration when they can just make it an ongoing process without the time limit?
Especially when NIA is under pressure.” – Dziedzom.
