– The electoral commission is one body in Ghana which has stood its grounds despite the many calls on it to abort the new register ambition.
– What have we seen? Determination, drive and readiness at all cost to carry on the assignment. Ill born or not, there is a lot to learn for this, which is a leadership lapse in our part of the world and country.
The box curved around Africa which we were cautioned never to think without has got to be destroyed at all cost.
The desire for leadership is a major human need created by natural forces we don’t have the luxury of time to go finding.
If this need is accepted and existing, then there must be a way to have good leadership for the people and generations ahead.
The word leadership has been defined by many across the world but the truth is, leadership is simply having the right foresight and ensuring available resources and followership are channelled toward a prosperous destination.
A leader without a clear vision but just a desire to lead is equal to a moving car without a driver or a control system. No matter what is done, if it does not stop the movement of the car, a crash is assured. Ghana is simply on its way to crash if this is the best leadership we keep having overtime.
The nation must be redefined on a journey lead by a vision to succeed. If the beauty and prosperity of other nations do not encourage us to be self-sufficient and start moving towards development, then, we better sell this country and move out for serious people to occupy.
If we don’t see the roadmap to Election 2020 promising strategic, visionary and dedicated leadership then we better forget about it.
The political class cannot be overlooked; we must, however, look with the eye and appetite to find the correct leadership and vision for this country. The struggle of the electoral commission if rightly focused would have been a waste of time.
Ghanaians must vote with one thing at the back of their heads, leadership born out of vision and determination.
