The two Ghanaian politicians, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa and Hon. Peter Amewu, all from Western Togoland with the notion that their political aspirations will soon end due to the restoration of Western Togoland (WTL), decided to seek powers that will enable them to overthrow the current leader of Western Togoland Restoration Front(WTRF) who on September 1, 2020, declared full statehood restoration for WTL.
Seeking the power from a Tongu man, each made a deal with him separately. He then arranged a meeting with them including a few others to discuss WTL and understand the issues better.
Without the knowledge of the participants, the leader of WTRF was also at the meeting.
During the discussion, an argument ensued between Okudzeto Ablakwa and Peter Amewu with regards to the Presidency.
Hon. Ablakwa, ambitious and most vociferous critic of WTL independence agenda wanted to be the President but Hon. Peter Amewu of the Ministry of Energy did not agree because he wanted it too.
Amewu’s stated that he would never allow a Tongu man to become a President over Evedome People. This infuriated Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, North Tongu MP.
The facilitator of the meeting drew Hon. Amewu’s attention to his identity as a Tongu man hence he could no longer honour his request for power.
