The President and President-elect of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo Addo, has expressed great appreciation to his supporters and the country for granting him a second term.
In his victory address today, he mentioned that there could be a tendency for an incumbent president “to take it easy and relax because there’s nothing left to lose or proof but I am of a different character”. He has promised to continually work hard to build a prosperous and progressive Ghana.
In the knowledge of having almost the same representatives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and New Democratic Congress (NDC) in parliament, he stated that it is the will of Ghanaians to have these parties work together for the well-being of the country. So now is the time, “irrespective of party affiliation to work hand in hand to place Ghana where she deserves to be”.
He further adds that he will work hard in the next four years to reverse the effects of Covid 19, boost and revive the economy of Ghana to its full recovery on the global market as the fastest growing economy. He says “I give you my word, we will regain that reputation.”
Finally, President Nana Addo congratulates all the Officials who saw to the success of this year’s elections and commends them for “delivering one of the best elections, if not the best ever witnessed in our history, which is one universal claimed”.
