I condemn in no uncertain terms what Akuapem Polo did but If any government is serious about protecting children let me show you where to find them.

From 37 Military Hospital to Jubilee House, THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT, you’ll find them there either selling or begging in traffic; Some of them are children with disabilities I’m not referring to the past four years. They have been there since time immemorial.

The kind of resources we have as a country- gold, timber, bauxite, oil cocoa, manganese, rubber, diamond, etc, but for evil leaders who have created a bad system that has forged an enabling environment that has institutionalized corruption, each child under 10 years could receive at least 50 Ghana cedis every month.

In 2019 alone, though this poor country called Ghana has a presidential jet, we spent GH₵62,578,224 Six hundred and twenty billion, five hundred and seventy-eight million, two and twenty-four old Ghana cedis on foreign travels and related expenses in just nine months.

The same year, the office of the president of this poor country which runs to IMF and the world bank now and then for loans spent GH₵1, 980,025.23 on refreshment only. Multiply the aforementioned figures by four years and it will give you an idea of how much we have wasted in 64 years. I’m not blaming NDC or NPP. I’m talking about the system; where necessary I’ll use any of them to set examples.

A few days after the election, the ministry for women and children’s affairs shared money to people to vote for an incumbent president in the name of social protection while the department of social welfare lacks the needed logistics to protect and end child labor and homelessness. Then, this same system turns around and pretends to be protecting a child.

If Akuapem Polo actively campaigned for the NPP, despite the seriousness of her offense, the prosecution would have received a call from high authority and the case would have taken a different twist!!!

A system that bullies poor, weak, and ordinary people. Remember the idiomatic expression- a bully is always a coward? Yes, the 1992 Constitution is a coward!
