INEC Begins Distribution of Election Materials in Ogun

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun the distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive election materials to Ogun State’s 20 local government areas ahead of Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections.

Niyi Ijalaye, the Ogun State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), confirmed this to reporters in Abeokuta on Thursday.

In the early hours of Thursday, he said, INEC in Ogun received the materials, which included result sheets and ballot papers.

Ijalaye revealed that the materials would be accompanied by armed security men while inspecting the materials kept inside the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Abeokuta branch, adding that the remotest areas with difficult terrains would be served first.

Ijalaye confirmed that the CBN had provided cash to the commission to pay for transportation and other logistics.
