Jah Phinga (born Jonathan Woelin Segbefia) is a reggae and dancehall artist from Ghana. He has recorded over 50 singles and has collaborated with such artists as Shatta Wale, Stonebuoy and DiThree. In 2017, his song ‘One World One People’ was nominated at the 2017 All African Music Awards.
The On-Air Personalities of the Volta Region has issued out a statement addressing all media houses in the Volta region not to play any of Jah Phinga’s songs. This is as a result of some disrespect meted out to them by Jah Phinga.
The statement read:
Considering the increasing level of gross disrespect being shown to our members and the very recent one to DJ Matin Rouny of Sand City 88.9FM by Musician Woelin Segbefia, publicly known as Jah Phinga, the On-Air Personalities (OAPs) and the Programme Members of all radio stations and TV stations in the Volta Region have resolved with immediate effect that:
1. Jah Phinga’s songs have been Blacklisted across all radio stations in the region until he renders an acceptable unqualified apology to DJ Martin Rouny and all On-Air Personalities in the region.
2. This is to send a strong warning to all artists who think that it is the obligation of the OAPs to air their songs hence the gross disrespect will face equal and or even more measures.
3. We want to state categorically that since our help is not being regarded, anyone who intends engaging us in any form of promotional help should be professional in their approach.
4. By this release all On-Air Personalities are to comply strictly.

The whole issue began when Martin Rouny made a sarcastic post shading Jah Phinga about the incident which happened at Miss Volta where he left the stage blaming the soundz.
On the 9th of January, Martin shared a video of Agbeshie Music and Woelin J Segbefia doing freestyle in the studios of SandCity TV with the caption “Woelin J Segbefia the sound good for the freestyle”?
Jah Phinga not liking the shades thrown him replied in the comment section that “Don’t tag me in such nonsense again, respect yourself Amenye” to render his dissatisfaction with the caption Martin gave the post he made.
And then Martin flared up and was the first to start the harsh harsh words with a highly disrespectful reply he gave which started all their back and forth insults against each other.
The reply Martin gave was and I quote “See who is talking about Nonsense, today our support for you is now nonsense. Grow up Amenye I can’t see you fall with your stupidity. Thanks”.
And then they took it to their inboxes where they shared some very nasty comments.
