The Former Aide to the late Rawlings, Victor Smith, has made some statements suggesting the flag bearer of the NDC, John Mahama, can assume the position as the founder of the party.
Even though he did not state categorically, Victor Smith says,
“To be frank with you, we are not looking for a successor at this stage. But, I think John Mahama at this stage is big enough.”
Most of the founding fathers have passed on, leaving John Mahama as the only face of the NDC so this would not be a surprise to many Ghanaians if he is made the successor.
Victor Smith was generous to acknowledge that there was a founder however, he thinks “John Mahama is also big as far as our party is concerned”.
