Joselyn Dumas, a Ghanaian television host and actress, has been the talk of the town since she gave a standout performance in Play Network Studio’s Netflix original remake of “Glamour Girls.”
The 2 hours and 5-minute-long Glamour Girls movie, which debuted on June 24, has dominated trends on the Netflix streaming service. A 2022 Netflix film called Glamour Girls tells the tale of five girls who struggle mightily to make ends meet in order to live a high life in Lagos, Nigeria.
They all dare to cause a stir with their jobs as upscale escorts within the typically patriarchal African community. They are known as the Glamour Girls for their ability to put on a glamorous front while travelling and pretending to vacation on islands and beaches while having sex with men.
The character of Jemma, a former escort who fell in love but is now returning to the business because of financial difficulties, was played by Joselyn Dumas. Prior to learning what her boyfriend Alexander had done to her child, Jemma and Alexander were enjoying a happy relationship. It motivated her to kill him, and in order to cover it up, she enlisted the aid of Donna and Tj (Taymesan Emmanuel).
When it is discovered that Alexander was an accountant in charge of money belonging to some influential men in the nation, his death quickly garners attention. The men think Jemma and Donna are to blame for Alexander’s disappearance because they had a romantic relationship with him.
The women looked for the money’s flash drive and prepared a trade with the men in order to avoid being killed. While assisting them, Zeribe (James Gardiner) made the decision to betray them and put the blame on Emma. He was falsely accused of stealing the flash drive by Emma, who had planted it on him.
The flash drive that contained some of the money was duplicated in secret by Donna, it is revealed in the film’s epilogue.
The cast was headed by Donna, the Madame of the business, and included Emma (Sharon Ooja as the title character), Helion (Segilola Ogidan as the title character), Jenna (Joselyn Dumas as the title character), and Louise (Toke Makinwa as the title character) (Character played by Nse-Ikpe Etim).
