The Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road safety (BIGRS), through Vital strategies, is having a workshop for journalists in the city of Accra.
A two-day workshop has been structured to contain activities and discussions that will help journalists report accurately and frequently on road safety issues.

The Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road safety ( BIGRS) started 2010 to 2015 phase 1 for 5 countries.
Phase 2 from 2015 to 2016 for 10 countries and is currently on phase 3.
The initiative is to provide technical support to enhance road safety, the workshop reviewed data about deaths as a result of exposure of vulnerable road users. The statistics show 85% of pedestrian crashes from 2019 to 2020.
Death caused by road crashes among males is 74% and 26% in the city of Accra.
2126 persons are said to have been killed from January to September in the year 2021.
The workshop provided data available to journalists to use and some technicalities in the way of reporting.
Enhancement of rules concerning the road, how systems must be put together to ensure enforcement.
