Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Informations had a tour in the Northern Region of Ghana.
Where he visited Ya-Na Abubakari, commissioned a radio station and wrapped it up with a presentation at the 4th Ali Mahama memorial lecture.
On his Facebook handle he wrote:
As part of my working visit to the Northen Region of Ghana;
I paid a courtesy call on the overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom Ya-Na Abubakari Mahama ll at the Gbewa Palace.
Later in the day, I commissioned a new radio station called Naya Radio by the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in Yendi.The establishment of the station forms part of measures by Government and the state broadcaster to ensure that information is made available to the Ghanaian public in as many local languages as possible.
Additionally, Government is working to establish 6 new radio stations in the 6 new regions of Ghana.
To wrap up my activities in the Region, I had the honour of delivering the 4th Ali Mahama memorial lecture. I outlined how young Ghanaians can draw lessons from the life of the late former Vice President especially on how he rose from Dagbon to the world.
My gratitude to my brother Farouk Aliu Mahama for his warm hospitality. The new Yendi project will happen Insha Allah.
