“Legends don’t clash in dancehall? I guess Bounty Killer and Beenie man are not legends then.
This man is the most successful reggae dancehall artist Ghana has ever had. No hype just facts. None of the reggae dancehall artists in Ghana today has achieved half of what SAMINI achieved through dancehall.
Let’s just focus on reggae dancehall for today.
First foremost when SAMINI named his genre of music “The African dancehall” how many of you were following dancehall by then? Even your favourites artists today didn’t understand what dancehall was so they thought speaking patoa is what qualifies a song as dancehall. They said a whole lot about SAMINI’s dancehall then but later saw that they were ignorant.
This man stayed focus and took his African dancehall to Jamaica to perform on the champions league stage. By then your favourites were not even having a passport.
Fast forward 2010, he was nominated and won at the International Reggae and World Music award (Irawma). tell me in that 2010 where was ur artist?
In 2011, He won the most gifted ragga dancehall video at the Channel O awards.
In that same 2011, he hosted Mavado live in Ghana. One of the biggest dancehall artists from Jamaica to date. And in 2012, he hosted Demarco. All these things I’m mentioning none of the wannabe kings have ever done it.
In 2013 when the first-ever reggae dancehall awards scheme was introduced in Ghana, He won the overall artist of the year.
Also won the best reggae dancehall performer.
And then won the dancehall artist of the year.
Before ur artist knows Jamaica, SAMINI has already featured most of the top stars in Jamaica.
He collaborated with a Grammy nominee Etana on African unite.
Featured Steel pulse, about 9 times Grammy nominee and a Grammy award winner.
2013, he had a song with Demarco. one of the biggest in that year.
2014, with Popcaan on Violate.
2015, With Busy signal.
These are all top Jamaican superstars . is not hype, is about the works.
20years down the line, after long years without representation on the world reggae billboard chart, it took this same SAMINI to take Ghana reggae to the world billboard chart. Where are ur kings who think they are reigning now?
Then same 2018, SAMINI again beat all these top Jamaican superstars; Stephen Marley, Protoje, Mr Vegas, Ziggy Marley, Kabaka Pyramid, Spice, etc, to win the ReggaeVille album of the year. This has never happened in Africa. No Africa artist has been able to win this award until SAMINI.
This is the man we are talking about here. He is not ur normal hype artist. You can have a love for a certain artist but u can’t disrespect SAMINI. He made reggae dancehall acceptable in Ghana. All your favourites got their root from SAMINI. So all you kids that come out here to also say some, watch ur back and what u say. u know why all ur favourites can not come out to disrespect SAMINI? So who r u a mere fan? Ask yourself.
Nobody understands this genre than the originator. so when he called for a Versuz he knows how it goes. U people always dey talk but u never get the sense to call for versus until he called the shot. Once again he is proving to u all that he owns dancehall and got the key to the success and activeness of the genre.”
