In a statement released on 25th July 2022, the NABCO Trainees Association of Ghana is set to hold a press conference over their unpaid allowances for the last nine months.
The press conference is slated for 29th July 2022 at the Kumasi Cultural Centre at exactly 10 am.
The National President of NABTAG, Dennis Opoku Katakyie stated that the purpose of their press conference is to report on the unbeatable hardship suffered by the trainees due to unpaid stipends for the past nine months.
The programme, which began in 2018, was scheduled to end in 2021.
However, trainees were directed to remain in a post by the Chief of Staff of the Presidency, Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare and the Vice-President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumiah but have been silent over the permanent unemployment arrangement.
He expressed his displeasure about how they are treated in a “sadistic manner”.
Even though they are going through an unbearable hardship, they have to work amidst the distressing situation.
“Our plea is that even if our consultations are not yet completed, at least our nine months arrears should be paid,” the statement says.
