According to the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), obtained 6,730,413 votes rounding up to 51.59%
On the other hand, the New Democratic Congress (NDC) obtained 6,214,889 votes rounding up to 47.36%.
The EC stated categorically that these figures were exclusive of the Takyiman South constituency, which comprised of over 100,000 votes. Nevertheless, should these votes be added to the NDC‘s, it will still be impossible to get them to win the seat.
Before the coalition of these votes, the difference in figures between both parties was already 515, 000.
Therefore with honour and pride, the Electoral Commission declared Nana Akufo Addo as the president-elect of the Republic of Ghana.
