Media General operates some of the industry’s largest and diversified businesses spanning television, radio, digital media and productions. The largest company in Media General’s growing portfolio is TV3 Network Limited, a private free-to-air television broadcaster in Ghana with nationwide coverage.
Media General has released a report on its coverage on the 2020 elections. There has been allegations of they releasing results based on their political affiliation. In that, most of their results, especially the parliamentary were in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In their statement, they stated that, all the projections they made were based on the number of parliamentary seats each party has secured at a particular time.
And that, the projections which were made were not in any way intended to be the definitive results of the Elections.

We observed comments on social media and other media on TV3 and Media General’s coverage of the results on the 2020 elections, particularly in projections of seats won by political parties in the parliamentary elections.
We wish to state that all the projections we made on the number of parliamentary seats by the parties were based on the information’s we had received at a particular time.
The projections which were made were not in any way intended to be the definitive results of the elections. It must be noted that all projections were changed from time to time as we received new information, which were analysed.
Our elections coverage was not intended to favor any political party or candidate and any contrary perception is deeply regretted.
