On Friday, July 1st 2022, Ghanaians were outraged at hearing the news of the government’s decision to seek assistance from the IMF.
In a statement to the public by the information minister Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, he stated that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has authorised the finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta Atta to start engagement with the IMF.
Ghanaians have shown their displeasure about the recent happenings.
Miss Lydia Forson an award-winning actress has also added her voice to the state of Ghana’s current economy in a recent tweet.
According to her, the NPP government should be honest and apologize to Ghanaians, because that’s what we need and they should stop playing the blame game.
“NPP should just come and apologise to Ghanaians and admit that they oversold themselves. That’s the kind of honest leadership we need and I’m sure many would respect it.
But politics nti, they will come out to play the blame game.” – Lydia Forson
