he Office of Former President Kufour released a statement signed by Dr Kwabena Osei Aduhofour, senior aide and spokesperson for former president Kufour to the general public to debunk false news in circulation about the former President.
There have been false news circulating on social media and sections of traditional media that former President, John Agyekum Kufour has written to the Chief of Staff at the presidency to request that six months of his salary should be forfeited to the state.
“This office wants to emphatically state that the reportage is fake, and should be treated with the contempt that it deserves. We are at loss as to the object of such reportage, and call for rational reflection on the use of the present avenues of communication that the digital age affords all of us,” the statement reads.
The release also pointed out that, communication emanating from their office will never get the former President’s last name Kufour wrongly spelt.
They also urged the general public to utterly disregard any mischievous piece bearing the former president’s name.
