Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, has declared five days of mourning for President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash.

“I announce five days of public mourning and offer my condolences to the dear people of Iran,” Khamenei stated in an official statement a day after Raisi and other officials were killed in an accident in East Azerbaijan Province.

According to Vestadaily, Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and seven others died in a helicopter crash.
