Kojo Kurankye, better known in showbiz as Ras Kuuku, has claimed that he is bigger than gospel singer Joe Mettle.
For quite some time, the dancehall artist and the gospel personality have been at odds. Ras Kuuku vehemently opposed Joe Mettle’s VGMA nomination and, as a result, the Artiste of the Year award. Joe Mettle responded by saying he didn’t know Ras Kuuku until the missing award saga.
Ras Kuuku stated in an exclusive interview with Christian Agyei Frimpong on Onua FM’s Anigye mere entertainment show, “Joe Mettle can attest to the fact that I’m better musically than him.” I’m bigger than him in terms of voice and style. I can’t say Joe Mettle is superior to me. “How and why?”
“Do you know that people questioned his Artiste of the Year award?” the self-proclaimed youth president said, explaining the reason for his feud with the gospel giant. So when he was nominated in the top category again this year, I thought, if his work can earn him that nomination, don’t we deserve to be there, too? I only asked a question about the process.
“He didn’t like my comments, so he punched me.” That’s all I thought. “However, he went on interviews and used my name to promote his event,” he explained.
“I was very shocked to hear him say he didn’t know me,” Ras Kuuku continued. He had the option of declining the question. But he went that route because he wanted to use my image to promote his event, and we also gave him the publicity.
“I’m not sure why he’ll say I’ve lost my awards. How do you put it? If he knows where the awards are, he should assist me in finding them. “I’ve always maintained that none of my awards has gone missing.”
