Stakeholders' Consultative Meeting On Human Trafficking

The Human Trafficking Secretariat (HTS) under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) in collaboration with Expertise France, held a Consultative Meeting with Stakeholders on Human Trafficking in Accra.

The meeting was necessitated as part of the implementation of the Partnership objective 3.1.2 of the National Plan of Action (NPA) for the elimination of Human Trafficking (HT) in Ghana under which HTS is mandated to organise periodic meetings with stakeholders to share cross-border trafficking information with relevant stakeholders.

The main purpose of the meeting was to share information and update stakeholders on current trends of human trafficking (HT).

It also sought to enhance collaboration and partnership amongst stakeholders.

Addressing participants on behalf of the Ministry, the Deputy Director of HTS, Sena Owusu-Gibson noted that it was imperative that stakeholders meet to update each other on the various programmes and activities undertaken during the course of the year and consolidate efforts to continue the fight against human trafficking.

At the end of the day, stakeholders were updated on current matters of HT in Ghana; collaboration and partnership were improved between the Human Trafficking Secretariat and its stakeholders.
