Tensions Rise Prior To The First US Presidential Debate

Tensions rise as the first debate between Democratic nominee Joe Biden and incumbent Republican President Donald Trump approach.

The debate is meant to take place in Cleveland at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Clinic. An opinion poll conducted by ABC News last week resulted in Biden and his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris, leading incumbent president Donald Trump 53%-43% among registered voters. He will however want to take full control of the debate to kick things back in his favour. Six topics will be debated of which 15 minutes will be dedicated to each topic in the upcoming debate.

Those topics are:

• Trump’s and Biden’s records
• The Supreme Court
• COVID-19
• The economy
• Race and violence in U.S. cities
• The integrity of the election

Two more presidential debates are in the pipeline and set to take place on Oct. 15  and Oct. 22 in Miami and Nashville Tennesse respectively.

The debate will be live from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. EDT and from 1:00 am to 3:00 am GMT
