The Office of the Special Prosecutor has commenced investigations into the estate of Kwadwo Afriyie.
This comes about after the late former Forestry Commissioner, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John, willed out some portion of the Achimota forest land to his relatives.
The Office of The Special Prosecutor, which is headed by Kissi Agyebeng had issued a public statement announcing the commencement of investigation into this corrupt act.
The statement reads:
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has commenced a full investigation into suspected companion and corruption-related offences in respect of all alleged improper and unlawful acquisition of State lands at the Achimota Forest enclave and Ramsar catchment at Sakumono in Accra by the former Chief Executive of Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie alias Sir John (now deceased) and other persons.
The Ministry for Lands and Natural Resources is directed to fully cooperate with the OSP in the investigations.
