The Tourism Ministry Has Named Asamoah Gyan As A Brand Ambassador

Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has been appointed as a Tourism Ambassador by Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr Ibrahim Awal Muhammed.

Dr Mohammed told Joy Entertainment’s Ibrahim Ben-Bako that Asamoah Gyan has demonstrated his passion for Ghana on the pitch, which has gained him global fame alongside his career as a footballer.
According to the Minister, the former captain may use his networks to sell Ghana both domestically and internationally as a Tourism Ambassador.

“There are two fronts, we want him to have at least one million Ghanaians every year going around tourist sites to see them. So he encourages young Ghanaians to go around tourist sites and when we do that we are encouraging Ghanaians to learn each other’s culture,” he explained.

Dr Mohammed added that “this would also excite the local economy and jobs are created for the people in that locality. Internationally, he’s going to use his networks to let people know that Ghana is peaceful, Ghana is attractive, come and visit Ghana, therefore, jobs are created.”
In an interview with Joy Entertainment, the former Black Stars captain expressed his excitement for the ambassadorial job, saying that despite doing similar work for other brands, he can’t wait to get started with the Ministry.
I feel very good about being part of tourism, I have always been a patriotic citizen, I am here to serve the nation, work starts now and I can’t wait to start work,” he said.
The event to name Asamoah Gyan as the new ambassador took place in the conference room of the Tourism Minister.
It was attended by the Deputy Minister, Mark Okraku Mantey and the team at the Ministry together with Asamoah Gyan’s team.
