Three Students Have Contracted Covid-19 In School

The Director-General of Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, has announced that three students have so far contracted the deadly Covid 19 virus. He made this announcement on Monday, January 25, 2021.

Per the President’s instructions, all schools resumed on Monday, January 18, 2020. Some parents felt quite skeptical of their ward’s safety if they are released from school. This announcement by Dr. Kuma-Aboagye has ignited more anxiety in parents who are wondering who these affected children might have had contact with.

Others are of the view that the Director-General has knowledge of only three students, which might be more than the actual number of affected persons. Therefore, authorities of the school must conduct contact tracing as quickly as possible in order the curb the spread of the virus.

The recent rise in cases is somewhat causing fear and panic in the country. As a result, there are rumors of a possible lockdown in no time, because of the Covid-19.

However, these rumors are not certified until the President, Nana Akufo Addo, says so. Until then, the protocols have not changed – mask up, sanitize your hands, observe social distancing and avoid crowded places completely.
