Today Marks Nigerian's 60th Independence Anniversary

The Federal Republic of Nigeria broke away from the British colonial rule on 1st October 1960 with the late Anthony Enahoro spearheading the walk to independence.

In October 1963, Governor-General Nnamdi Azikiwe was proclaimed the first president of the republic and since then, Nigerian has been free from the oppressors rule.
Today, the current President of Nigeria is H.E Muhammadu Buhari.

Celebrations have filled all the states and cities of Nigeria as individuals from all walks of life gather to share bittersweet memories to commemorate their Independence day.

Other African and Western countries have flooded social media with goodwill messages to all citizens of Nigeria.

Here in Ghana, we also say HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIGERIA
