The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) kicked off on Friday night the 6th of May 2022 with the Industry Awards.
Day one of the events was hosted by Edem the rapper and the TV personality AJ Sarpong.
The evening was enthused with startling outfits, some stunning, others weird, and of course, the guy dressed up as a schoolgirl.
The show delivered hot performances from Perez music, Celestine Donkor, Samini, Amerado, Kofi Kinaata, and many others.
Social media went ablaze with the performance of Amerado now given the name the rap monster, rap genius, and so on.
Comments from the social media platform portray Perez Music and Celestine Donkor as not giving the usual gospel feel but this time they gave something unique and unprecedented performance.

Day two of the events is a night of popularity-based awards.
The audiences are anticipating the unexpected as compared to day one, in terms of backstage lighting, and stage arrangements among others.
The Ghanaian popularity is warming up to see the next session of the award night like the collaboration of the year, dancehall song of the year, dancehall artiste of the year, artiste of the year, and other categories yet to be awarded.
