The Ashanti Region’s Obuasi market experienced a fire outbreak that destroyed merchandise and businesses worth thousands of cedis.

The early hours of December 28, 2022, saw the occurrence of the fire, the cause of which is currently unknown.

It is claimed to have begun at the market’s storefront of the local assemblymember’s shop, which is located on a multi-story structure.

To aid in putting out the fire, numerous fire appliances were sent to the location.

Due to the intensity of the inferno, according to Isaac K. Normanyo of Adom News, significant damage had already been done when firefighters arrived on the scene.

According to reports, some traders tried to save their goods through the thick smoke while others, whose shops were on the ground floor, ran helter-skelter for their lives.

To determine what started the fire, investigations have already begun.
