According to Fifi Kwetey, general secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and cousin of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is worried that the new NDC executives will reveal the inefficiency and corruption of the ruling party.
Following the NDC congress on Sunday, Mr Otchere-Darko referred to the new executives as “accomplished propagandists.”
The former NDC propaganda secretary stated in response to Mr Otchere-comment Darko’s the Point of View on Citi TV on Monday that Mr Otchere-Darko is only concerned that their days of deceiving Ghanaians are coming to an end.
He asserted that the NDC will reveal the president and the numerous corruption scandals that have plagued his administration over the past six years in the coming days.
“This team will be a team that will be clearing the air, exposing the lies, exposing the degeneration in his government, and actually exposing the fact that this is the most corrupt and depraved government in our history.
They have a team led by his cousin, who is the very definition of corruption and degeneration. I believe he is concerned that this team will come to publicly and severely expose the complete moral collapse that our nation is experiencing, including collapses in both the economy and the leadership of this nation. So it’s obvious to me why Gabby will be trembling; they had better get ready, Mr Kwetey told sit-in host Selorm Adonoo.
He also exhorted the current administration to stop providing justifications for the ongoing financial crisis.
“We have discussed the complete deception of using COVID-19 as if it never occurred, or as if Russia or Ukraine never occurred in any region of the world. You can see that this is a government that is massively misleading the populace and coming up with justifications if you compare what was happening in these countries to what was happening in Ghana.
“Take a look at where they transferred our debt. Has Dumsor been fixed? Despite having faced COVID-19, do these nations not have stronger economies? So what exactly is this COVID-19 defence? Have they experienced the same Single Spine Salary that we did? These are merely rationales.
