On 19th June, 2021 La Liga Club Barcelona announced the free transfer on a two-year contract of Memphis Depay. He is currently serving Barcelona FC and Netherlands.
But it seems his football career had recently taken a huge turn when the head coach of Barcelona, Xavi reported on 3rd July that the footballer isn’t in his plans for the 2022 – 23 season.
Memphis Depay is a Dutch professional footballer born in Dordrecht. His roots can also be traced to Ghana since he was born to a Ghanaian father.
Memphis began his career early and is considered one of the best young players in football.
He was also given the Best Young Player in the world award by France in 2015.
The report stated Depay is hurt by the club’s stances and feels unfairly treated based on his performance last summer since he was able to amass 13 goals in 38 appearances.
Meanwhile, this news has gotten Ghanaians talking.
Some believe Depay’s misfortune has a connection to His visit to the President of Ghana Thursday 16th June 2022 at the Jubilee House.
