Michael Owusu Addo, professionally known as Sarkodie is a Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur from Tema. He has earned a number of accolades through his contributions to the Ghana music industry, with the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) for artist of the year inclusive.

He was announced the first winner of BET’s Best International Flow act at last year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. He is considered one of the major players in the Azonto genre and dance.
He has received 92 awards from 165 nominations, including 22 Ghana Music Awards.
He won both 4Syte TV Music Video Awards and Ghana Music Awards with “Makye”, his debut studio album.
Rapper Sarkodie leads nominations for the 21st edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA), and now stands as one of the best when it comes to Ghana Music.
He got 10 nomination categories, including artist of the year. Competing with equally hard-working artiste like Diana Hamilton, Kuami Eugene, Medikal and Kofi Kinaata.
