Former President John Mahama has criticized the resignations of Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the minister of agriculture, and former trade minister Alan Kyerematen.
According to Mr Mahama, the resignation was premature and pointless.
He claims that this is because they have realized that their government’s boat is sinking and have decided to leave.
In spite of their resignation being a relief to them, Mr Mahama pointed out in a tweet that they cannot be exempted from the current economic mess.
“Some Akufo-Addo government officials have realized their ship is sinking, It’s too late now, but it must be a relief for those jumping ship. It’s so nearly useless. They will make every effort to avoid contributing to our mess, but let’s not overlook the roles they all played,” he wrote.
Some members of the Akufo-Addo gov't have realized their boat is heading for disaster. It must be a relief for those deserting the ship, but it's so late. It's almost pointless. They’ll try hard not to be part of the mess we are in, but let’s not forget the parts they all played.
